Alpha-san works on a distant cafe at a devastated world in the future, near Yokohama. However, her life is peaceful. Alpha spends most of her time enjoying the nature around her, visiting her few friends, or thinking about life and it's meaning - pretty much the same routine as most people on the desolate yet tranquil world. The only difference from Alpha and her neighbors is that she is a Robot. Pacing Based on a manga with same name, Yokohama is a pleasant and heart warming story, gently and subtle focusing on the "strange' peaceful atmosphere filled with nostalgic feelings that transpire from the characters even though the world is, for all it's worth, nearing it's end: The sea level is rising and flooding towns, mount Fuji seams to have erupted a while ago, and mankind is said to be nearing it's end, with a subtle tone of "how things have been getting harder with time". However, Yokohama does not cover this sci-fi thriller, but the human nature of the very persons (and robots) that fill this world, their relationships, friendships and love, and perhaps, it brings us closer to understand what being "human" is all about. For viewers who did not watch the manga, these episodes will seam loose and perhaps boring. They just show some memorable moments from the manga, with the pleasant feeling it left on the reader, without the innumerable mysteries the manga also boast. It would be a shame to watch this OVA without before reading at least a couple of Yokohama manga volumes. If you did read the manga and wants more information on what the OVA covers, check our essay section; Conclusion This is probably the best that the cutesy genre "Make you feel good" can get, but most of the plot and character development is in he manga. This anime is only recommended for the manga fans. Staff & Crew

Before one labels a history as cliché, predictable or beaten, think about this: "What really matters is life and how you live it, not the predictability of Death"
