Setting

At an isolated futuristic city, Roy is a bounty hunter for Miranda's agency. Twelve years earlier, at an accident called 'Blast Fall', thousands of people died as a strange lightning coming from the Aurora Shield (A shield which protects the city from the dangerous aurora) struck the RUC tower - RUC being the powerful organization which runs the town and controls politics, economy and police force. At that accident, Roy lost his daughter, while Miranda lost her husband. During one of his missions, Roy ends up being 'saved' by Solty, a cute girl who doesn?t know who she is and why she holds enormous powers.

Pacing

The plot focuses more in Roy than Solty. Although Solty is the center that connects all about 11 main characters (Roy, Miranda and her daughter Kasha, Soly herself, Yuu - a robotics otaku, the 4 policewoman at RUC and Rose and her thief brothers), in truth the main story is little focused at Solty, but on everyone around her and how they connect.

As the focus gets more and more at Roy, Miranda and Rose, we get some interesting twists at the end part of the title that also involves RUC and it's intentions.

Character development is quite abundant for most characters, except perhaps for the Anderson brothers and the policewomen, but still, nothing that actually leaves them without some depth.

Conclusion

This title is filled with subtleness and twists. The first part have an interesting aspect, as each episode holds an statement from one of the characters that most often seams random, but actually, if put together, can actually be considered the main plot. This is a complete roller coaster (specially from episode 11), as Solty Rei starts to get complex until everything starts to fit in on unexpected ways, culminating at an interesting and surprising ending.

As my wife warned me as I started watching this title, I also forward her warning: It's a Gonzo title with too many characters ... some will obviously die.

Before one labels a history as cliché, predictable or beaten, think about this: "What really matters is life and how you live it, not the predictability of Death"
