Keita is a "Inukami Tsukai" (Inukami user, Inukami being literally a "Dog God" or Deity). Utmost perverted, not loyal and irresponsible, Keita ends up pairing with a equally mad Inukami, Yohko. The usual objective of the Inukami and their master pair is to fight off lost/evil spirits, but for both Keita and Yohko, their actions are strictly "business" to raise money to survive. Really not needed to point, Keita is the shame and shadow of the Kawariha family and their centuries of producing only the best Inukami tradition.

Pacing

Inukami is quite loose and episodic, and very few episodes are really linked, thought a timeline is present: each episode is only often one adventure where Yohko and Keita fight off some random spirit. However, what really saves Inukami from being just another usual ecchi comedy with dumb lead actor are two points: First, Keita's cousin Kaoru has 10 obedient and unique Inukami who are often present on the episodes, sometimes in par with the main characters; and the pervert relation of Keita and Yohko actually leaves a nice feeling and have a subtle romantic conclusion, that manages to give a better fluidity to their relationship near the very end of the title (but don't hope for much more than a slapstick comedy can offer on romance)

Conclusion

Really with no seriousness, Inukami is funny and delivers quality entertainment as a whole. The weird, ridiculous and completely out of this world moments will often get you to laugh, and the subtle cute romance between Yohko and Keita also ends up adding some spice to the title. Another point that must be highlighted is the fact that Inukami gets really heavy on sexual comedy: Yohko is always sending Keita outside nude (he ends up with the title of 'Naked king' by the notorious criminals who share the police station cell with him when he is - more than often - busted walking around naked when Yohko transports him to a crowded city area), and the villains often have some connection to ecchiness or nudity (some even parade nude onscreen). This is certainly a little too much, but it ends up being the main comic relief of the series, specially the sketchy "elephant" shown to censor the characters private areas while a local child point and screams "Look mom, an elephant!" - This is Inukami, a slapstick comedy filled with nudity comedy and a small amount of romance - and in time - a small extra mystery surrounding Yohko's past and her, being an Inukami (Dog God), fearing ... dogs.
