I'm at episode 6, and this is probably going down as the worst anime I ever watched. It does not even count as spoiler to mention Shouko's death at this stupid episode since it was all over the place she would die ever since episode 5 ... this title is so much clichéd filled that disgusts me, not even my current "worst anime ever" Brain Powerd was that bad only after 5~6 episodes.

The main character wears DIFFERENT CLOTHING just to make him different from the others, the picture they take on episode 3 is ridiculous, you can tell who the lead is from the picture because not only he wears a different uniform (for no reason), but his character design is also different (alas, "the galant knight that will save all from impending doom"). Also, by episode 6 I did not connect to a single character because there are no character development whatsoever. Characters are so shallow, most of them fight "for Kazuki!", when Shouko said "I'm not doing this for the island, I'm doing this for Kazuki" I wanted to kill myself, but Kazuki actually got the crown: the island being attacked and in imminent doom, but he CHOOSES to keep protecting the damn UN ship ... 20 lives against 2000 ... sure, pick 20, MORON. All about ecthics on the episode before, saying he cannot let those UN drones die, and now this, OMFG kill me, kill me now

I was expecting something good from an anime that has the great Warsaw Philarmonica Orchestra making it soundtrack but I'm ashamed to imagine those great musicians watching the anime just to see for what they were playing ><; man this is so bad T_T

I never fast foward an episode so early as this (half episode 6 I watched in 2x speed, which made it at least funny).

Also, I read lots of stuff about this being a copy of NGE and I always thought "bah, they say that about every mecha anime these days" ... but mind you, it IS ... merged with Argento Soma BTW ... but by episode 13 even that goes to oblivion. Fafner was good for one thing though: made me want to increase the ratings on NGE and other animes I did underrate.

lol I actually found something entertaining to do ... watching anime in fastfoward is fun ... 2 episodes in 20 minutes, nothing lost since there is no plot >.>

lol so funny to wacth anime at fast foward. Now at episode 9 I had so many things to laugh about the ridiculous this title can get, such as people entering an ICU and being able to stop all life support with a single click ... yeah! go script writers! man, this must be the worst anime ever.

So obvious that guy was going to die/be assimilated the moment he went underwater ... how cliché can the title get?

well ... Naruto and One Piece are among the top 200 anyway, what did I expect?

er .. .at episode 12 a rookie pilot actually wears a toy GUNDAN helmet while getting into his Fafner (mecha) ... and uses it during the battle. Sure they say he went insane but they actually (a) let him do it (b) actually give up to his stupid idea during battle (c) whatever, that's too stupid. I'll watch ep 13 at normal speed just to hear the seeyu voices, since lots of new to-die-characters, I mean, secondary characters appeared.

ep 13 report (this is becoming a fun blog) = As the United Nations most powerful base is being chomped, crippled and destroyed by a massive attack and UN is evacuating it not even trying to defend it since it's useless .................. one girl with a old pilot decide to take on and head there to help things out to save dear male lead character (who, apparently, can't take care of his own) BANZAI \o/ BANZAI \o/ BANZAI \o/

This was a very PLOT DEVELOPING episode: after 12 episodes of intense mystery about what the aliens are, this episode managed to spill out everything there are to know about them in only 5 minutes! BANZAI \o/ BANZAI \o/ BANZAI \o/ mind you, the plot is stupid, aliens are here just to "understand" humans (like, let me kill you to understand you better! cool! your in wards are red! I learned a lot from you ... next!?)

up to ep 16 (I was doing something for valentine's day, which is June 12th in Brazil, and left it playing on TV lol) ... it's getting less bad but still have several issues:

1. Characters explicitly have huge thought discussions with themselves or an entity so we know what they are feeling/thinking, instead of any real character development
2. Commanders and those who should know better are clearly the most clueless characters on what is going on. Example: they didn't even notive the island core had left ??? what kind of security system can have it's core detach and leave and nobody NOTICES? no warning, no alarms, no indication, nothing LOL
